Azul Linhas Aéreas started selling tickets this Friday (8) for its new route between Confins International Airport (BH Airport) and Aracati Airport, on the coast of Ceará. Flights will begin in October 2026 and will be operated twice a week.
The new operation will be exclusive to Azul in Aracati and will facilitate access to the Cliffs Route, a tourist region that includes destinations such as Canoa Quebrada. The route will be served by Embraer E195-E2 aircraft, with a capacity for 136 passengers.
The operation was made possible through a partnership with the Government of Ceará, via the State Tourism Secretariat (Setur/CE), with the goal of increasing the flow of visitors to the eastern coast of Ceará.
“This new route is the result of coordinated action with the Government of Ceará, aligned with the strategy of strengthening air connectivity and sustainable tourism development in the state,” stated Cesar Grandolfo.ADVERTISING
According to the executive, expanding access to Aracati should contribute to the growth of the local economy and consolidate Ceará as one of the main tourist destinations in the country.
Confins International Airport (BH Airport) is Azul’s second largest connecting hub in Brazil. From this Minas Gerais terminal, passengers can connect to 55 domestic destinations, as well as international flights to Orlando and Montevideo.
Currently, Azul operates regular flights between Fortaleza and six destinations: Belém, Manaus, Congonhas Airport, Confins Airport, Recife, and Viracopos International Airport.
The company also maintains operations in Juazeiro do Norte and Jericoacoara, reinforcing its presence in the state.
